How to Import CSV Data into eFORMz

Overview

This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to import CSV (Comma Separated Values) records into eFORMz by creating variables for each element of the CSV file.

Requirements

1. eFORMz Composer software installed.
2. A CSV file to import.

Procedure

1. Open eFORMz Composer and create a new project by selecting:
   1. File.
   2. New Project.
      
      
      
2. Right-click the project and select:
   1. Add Preprocessor.
   2. Flat File Parser (to add the preprocessor).
      
      
      
3. Set the necessary properties in the Flat File Parser dialog and click OK.
   
   
   
4. Right-click the project again:
   1. Select Add Page.
   2. This will add a new page to the project.
      
      
      
5. Navigate to the XML Input tab and configure the required properties.
   
   
   
6. Right-click the page:
   1. Select Add Form.
   2. This will add a new form to the page.
      
      
      
7. Choose Blank to create a new blank form.
   
   
   
8. In the Viewer:
   1. Select Open Data.
   2. Choose From File.
   3. Import the CSV file. (The variables from the CSV file will be automatically added to the project.)
      
      
      
9. Right-click on Record in the Viewer:
   1. Select Add Variables to assign variables to the form.
      
      
      
10. Rename the variables to more meaningful names by:
    1. Right-clicking on each variable.
    2. Selecting Rename.
