Upgrading to a Newer Version of eFORMz

Overview

This is a guide on how to perform an upgrade to an eFORMz installation. Please note, that this article is intended for eFORMz installs that is upgraded regularly (every 1-3 years). Installs that are older than 4 years, may have compatibility issues. It is recommended that you reach out to support, for advice on how to upgrade an install that is 4 years or older.
 

Requirements

1. eFORMz Installer. (Contact eFORMz Support to acquire)
2. Windows Account with Admin Permissions.
3. Test Data for after the upgrade.
    

Procedure

1. Make a complete backup of your current install of eFORMz.
   1. The default install location on Windows is: C:\Minisoft\eFORMz_6
2. Turn OFF the eFORMz service.
3. Run the eFORMz installer.
   1. Depending on the version of the installer a password might be required to start the install process. 
   2. Please reach out to support for the install password.
4. Follow the instructions of the installer.
   1. Note that you may have to set the install path if your current eFORMz install was not installed in the default path shown at Step 1.
5. Turn ON the eFORMz service.
6. Send a test data payload to eFORMz to ensure that you're getting an expected output.
   1. If you're not getting the expected output or no output at all, please contact support.
