Overview
The File Age Selector sets a limit on which files the Director selects for an input queue's File Selector step of files that are older or newer than a particular time.
You might consider adding a File Age Selector if you have one of the following issues:
- A malformed file is picked up by the Director, cannot be processed, and is dropped. If an Alert queue is not set up, the file will be picked up over and over, consuming system resources. Setting a File Age Selector for files that are less than a particular number of minutes will prevent the problem files from being picked up again after it ages out.
- You need a delay to wait for other processes to complete before eFORMz processes the file.
Requirements
- You must have eFORMz Version 11 or later.
- The Director Toolkit configuration (.cfg) file.
Procedure
The following procedure instructs the Director to pick up ZPL files newer than 15 minutes in the current input queue for instance. Other queues are not affected.
- Open the Director Toolkit > Configure tab.
- If the .cfg file you want to update is not loaded, click File > Open Configuration, and then open the file. This should be the file that is running on the Director tab, usually named LocalPM.cfg.
- Find the file selector you want to update. The file selector has a binoculars icon. Right click > Change.
- Click the drop down menu for Additional File Selector > File Age Selector, and then click File Selector Properties.
- We only want the file selected if it is not older than 15 minutes. In the first field, select newer.
- In the input field, enter 15.
- Click OK > OK to return to the Director Toolkit.
- Click File > Save Configuration to write the changes to your .cfg file.
- Close all eFORMz windows, and then restart the eFORMz service to pick up the change.
