Overview
This a general guideline to migrate existing installs of eFORMz from one server to another. Please note this is a general guide, steps may vary depending on your implementation of eFORMz.
Requirements
- eFORMz.
- Installation of Java 8 if not using open JDK (Java Development Kit).
Procedure
Install eFORMZ Service Manager
- Copy/Backup the Minisoft Folder.
- Paste this folder in the same path on the new server.
- eFORMz Service install.
- Open CMD as admin. Run the following commands:
-
cd C:\Minisoft\eFORMz_6
-
jsl_64.exe -install jsl_ServiceManager_64.ini
-
- Check if the service is installed under Windows Services.
- Open CMD as admin. Run the following commands:
- Getting new server licensed:
- Navigate into C:\Minisoft\eFORMz_6.
- Remove eFORMz.xml file.
- Launch eFORMz.exe.
- A new eFORMz.xml file will be created.
- Please send this file to support@minisoft.com Please rename the file to match which server the file is for (i.e prod_eFORMz.xml, stg_eFORMz.xml, etc)
- Navigate into C:\Minisoft\eFORMz_6.
- Start eFORMz ServiceManager under Windows Services.
- Open the Director Toolkit and observe if there are any errors.
Potential Errors
-
Java Errors
- There’s a chance that the original server was not utilizing the JDK that came with eFORMz.
- You will need to reinstall this version of Java.
-
Printer Errors
- You may find "Printer not found" errors within the logs.
- Easiest way to clear this is to re-add the Printers under the director tab, as there is a possibility that the printer name changed slightly (i.e. ‘Label Printer’ vs ‘label Printers’).
