How to Get Data from a ZPL Document

Overview

This is a short article on how to pull data from ZPLs on eFROMz. You may want to use this feature to get data such as a tracking number from a label.

Import a sample of the ZPL into your project.
On the data view that shows your label. Click and drag the data that you would like to retrieve. In the below example this would be 'John Doe'.
Right-click to bring up a sub-menu.
1. Select Add Variable.
2. If you would like to keep the data for the output, be sure to check the box "Copy original data to output".
This should create a variable which holds the highlighted data.
Please note that if the incoming ZPL data shifts in anyway. You will need to edit the project to accommodate the data shifts.
